The paleo keto diet focuses on eating nutritious, natural foods with much of the energy coming from animal products. The diet plan is very low in carbohydrates, moderate in protein, and high in fat.
The paleo keto diet is better than a diet high in starchy carbohydrates. It enables a more balanced supply of energy. Paleo keto meals contain more meats especially in the first few months when carb allowance is less than 30g per day.
Some plant-based food can be eaten, while food can be sweetened only with honey. Fatty and red meats are more advised than lean meats. Beefsteak, fried bacon, roasted ribs, and eggs can be eaten as core meals.
It is important to maintain a fat-protein ratio of around 2:1 in grams. Eating too much protein can prevent the development of ketosis. Artificial sweeteners, legumes, dairy, vegetable/plant oil, and starchy root vegetables are forbidden in the paleo keto diet.
